Case study
Slate industrywaste
The manufacturing industries of mineral materials are known by the generation of a large amount of waste, of varying particle sizes, without any type of use. It is estimated that by processing each ton of mineral-based products, about 30 tonnes of waste is generated, thereby causing a high environmental impact.
Origin
The mineral waste usually comes from the mineral resource extraction and treatment industries, of which about 85% comes from the cutting and treatment processes of rock-processing industries.
Features
This Raw material can be processed through different types of technologies such as vacuum infusion or compression molding. In addition to the technical properties presented, this material also allows variability of color, textures and the particle size of the residue.
This material presents characteristics of potential interest, such as good mechanical properties of hardness, electrical and flame insulation, good resistance to high temperatures.
